Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper [door holder] in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Psalm 84:10

What Is a Door Holder?

We use the term “Door Holder” instead of the word “volunteer.” The term is borrowed from Psalm 84:10, which speaks of being a door keeper in the house of God. Door Holders at Passion 2026 are individuals who have experienced God’s glory and now want to hold the door to make a way for others to enter in. This is the heart and attitude we want our Door Holders to assume– one of service in preparing the way for others to have a powerful experience with Jesus.

Door Holder is a term that encompasses all who serve at Passion gatherings– not just those who literally hold physical doors! From those who are serving around the venue to those serving from the stage, we are all Door Holders.

Door Holder Requirements

  • Must be 25 years or over to serve.
  • Must be available to serve for the entire gathering– beginning with mandatory Door Holder meeting on January 1 and serving through Load-Out on January 3.
  • Travel, lodging, and other expenses are the responsibility of each Door Holder.
  • Please note that most Door Holder positions require the ability to stand or walk for 3-4 hours at a time while serving.
